Christmas movie review: A Christmas Wish

A Christmas Wish is another Hallmark Channel Original Movie and stars Kristy Swanson (the original Buffy) as Martha, an abandoned mother of three desperately looking for a job and someplace to live. She manages to get a job at a diner and a room at a motel but it doesn't stop the struggling because there's always money needed for something, whether it's the babysitter or the damage to the room caused by the children. On top of the monetary woes, Martha's oldest child is actually not hers but is the offspring of the husband who abandoned the family and is incredibly bitter. And a stutterer. Thanks to the friendliness of the people in the town, though, Martha starts to get back on her feet a little and even fall in love with a good guy.

This movie was all right... a little boring and predictable. A good message of a town helping those in need. The stutterer kid was pretty annoying, though, and Kristy isn't the world's best actress. It's a pretty average Christmas movie.

Rating: B
