Time for surgery
My dad's having surgery tomorrow and my parents are both really really freaked out about it. It's, if Wikipedia can be believed, called Uvulopalatopharyngoplasty. He's getting his uvula, his adenoids and his tonsils removed to help with his sleep apnea. According to that entry, the success rate is only 40%. But he kind of has to get it done... he has been diagnosed with sleep apnea for years; he tried using one of those machines that pump air into you but it never worked. They actually tried a couple machines and they didn't work. In order to maintain his commercial driver's license (which he needs for his job), he can't have sleep apnea. Therefore, this is the next thing to try to cure the sleep apnea. Anyway, both of my parents are extremely nervous about it all and while I have every confidence that it will go well, any prayers or thoughts of spiritual support that come our way will be greatly appreciated!
