As I consider a career in news librarianship, here is the
report (via MediaBistro) of the state of newspapers from 2004. In it, it states that newsrooms are in trouble and have had to face cutbacks. I'm sure I'm not crazy to assume that librarians are an easy target when a newsroom has to make cuts...
